Download mods for skyrim forgotten city. Skyrim - Quest - Forgotten City (Quest "Forgotten City") (RUS). Corrections from the localizer

The standalone game was announced last week. And that's why the original mod was so memorable.

My favorite Skyrim mods are usually the ones that change the game flow or add more customization options. Whenever I reinstall Skyrim, Alternate Start-Live Another Life is the first mod on my list. I prefer quest mods. To add a new story to Skyrim, you need to write a new story and voice characters, all this is not so easy to do - the mod did it, but this is a rare exception. One of my favorite storytelling mods is Sea of Ghosts, which expands on the story through new locations that have fallen into disrepair - a series of spooky islands.

However, The Forgotten City is not without an abundance of new characters. This is a quest mod that adds an entire settlement full of new people, fully voiced, each with their own story, which is woven into one story about time travel, human nature, and the role of laws in shaping society. It's great, that's what I want to say. This mod even has its own musical accompaniment.

As for why I'm playing a mod from 2015, if a separate game was announced at E3 - The Forgotten City. It will be a reboot that will remove all the features of the Elder Scrolls universe, replace the characters and endings, it will remain only the basic structure.

I'm pretty sure that by playing this mod, I won't spoil my impression of the upcoming game, because it has a lot of things that relate specifically to Skyrim. Once you enter the city (by traveling back in time to before it fell), you will find many familiar things. The Imperials are in charge while the Nords do all the work, and there are a few non-human and bestial races that no one cares about.

One of the residents turns out to be a member of the Dark Brotherhood, and the other, an Imperial soldier who wants to get out to continue fighting the Stormcloaks. This place is completely cut off from the rest of the world - once you enter here by jumping into the hole in the cave, you can't get out anymore. But all who entered brought their prejudices here.

Despite all the stress, The Forgotten City is supposed to be a place of calm. All people here, regardless of whether they fled Skyrim on purpose or accidentally fell into this hole, are under the jurisdiction of the "Law of the Dwarves". This place was built by the Dwemer, and they left protection for all those who would live after them. If anyone in the city sins, the entire population will be punished for him. Deadly.

When you see the city's future, you know what is about to happen. Something provokes the magical punishment left by the gnomes, and you have only a little time to figure it out and prevent it. Luckily, you have many tries. If you don't succeed, you can go back to the moment you arrived, starting another time loop, but armed with everything you've learned. There are even new dialogues related to this, including funny ones where you try to convince someone that you know what they are going to tell you.

Just like you remember characters, you remember locations. At first it doesn't seem huge. Just a palace, one district and a lake house, but there are other places to unlock and secrets to find. The limited size of the play area means that you learn little by little and, over time, figure out where everyone lives and how to move faster.

A self-proclaimed Jarl who sounds like Patrick Stewart. A merchant who swears he's honest, and also a cynical healer who gets annoyed that he's stuck in Forgotten City, but says, “It could have been worse. You could live in fucking Skyrim.”

It might be a bit ridiculous that all these people ended up here by just jumping into a hole (OK, one of them got pushed), but having them all stuck in the same place knowing each other adds up to a lot of interesting interactions. The Forgotten City mod seems to be an argument for limited locations, demonstrating how great open-world games can be when they focus more on depth than width.

That's why I'm looking forward to a game that eventually comes out, but first cuts the connection to Skyrim and becomes something new.

And so, straight to the end:

The only text in all of Skyrim that has "yo" in it. Pleasing to the eye.

I declare that this is the best quest mod for Skyrim (I can put "Wyrm's Fang" in second place

The music is sometimes better than the original, but alas, it is buggy (see below).

Interesting mechanics and concept. For the first time in the entire game, we are given the opportunity to think.

Thoughtful details of personalities and terrain. Branching dialogues, with an individual approach to the type of player and his story on the surface. Multiple endings (they say there are 6, but I only found five...). All these various little things ... wow ... cause a fit of delight.

The atmosphere is nothing like it. I strongly recommend to install!

And now about ways to eliminate the most common bugs:

TYTS

If your boots and mittens (well, or one thing) are covered with visual anomalies (multi-colored pixels or stripes), then increase the texture resolution to "high". Or install these textures (improve the quality and at the same time fix this unpleasant bug):

If you have new music playing in unison with the original, then here is the solution:

Q: The music of this mod continues to play after I get out of the city into Skyrim.

A: Walking through the entrance hallway (entrance or exit) should stop all Forgotten City music from playing.
If that doesn't work, use these console commands until the music stops:
removemusic 000FCMUSDread

removemusic 000FCMUSExplore

removemusic 000FCMUSDiscovery

removemusic 000FCMUSCombat

removemusic 000FCMUSArbiterMotif

removemusic 000FCMUSArbiter

removemusic 000FCMUSJudgment

removemusic 000FCThrivingCity

removemusic 000FCMUSDreadHighPriority

Just enter each of these commands until the music stops. If your game has multiple instances of music, you may need to enter them multiple times.

P.S. However, I still lost it after all these manipulations.

So I unpacked the mod's bsa archive and savagely deleted the music.

Now in the Forgotten City there is wind noise against the background of XD (sometimes something plays softly, but this is rare and is not music, so it's an unusual background sound). It's a pity, there was good orchestral music.

Well, or now, a lot has already been fixed and is ready for a simple throwing into the game folder. However, there will be no music in many locations of the mod (I even like it this way, but a matter of taste), I warned:
https://yadi.sk/d/XCJEdLJ43YYWLB be sure to delete the regular version of the mod (if you haven't unpacked anything, then: ForgottenCity.bsa - delete).

Interesting games for everyone!

P.S. The effect of the "Helmet of the Executor" is amazing!

And a big thank you to the translator!

This quest modification tells you about an ancient city that was destroyed a long time ago.

Your task is to reveal the secrets and find out what led to the destruction of this magnificent city.

Forgotten City (Forgotten City) was developed as a separate game.
- 18 voice actors from USA, France, England, Australia,
Canada and New Zealand.
- From 6 to 10 hours of passing separately quest lines.
- Over 1500 lines of dialogue. Several finals. Original
orchestral soundtrack. And most importantly - an epic city with a bunch of characters.
- You will plunge into the mysteries of murder, investigation, mysticism and intrigue in an ancient underground city.
- Each inhabitant of the city has its own character and history, and each of them is a potential quest giver.

How the quest starts:
- After player level 5, a messenger will approach you with a note from a certain Cassia “Unimaginable riches” and you will go to the ruins of the Forgotten City from this moment your story begins.
Little tip: Try to read the notes, and not take them with you. Do not break the rules while already in a busy city, they are the same as in any city in Skyrim (do not steal, do not kill, etc.)
Otherwise, the whole story will begin anew and the innocent may suffer.
Companions also accompany you, but sometimes they need help, for example: to jump into the pool or not to go where you don’t need to!

Requirements: This mod does not require any SKSE, SkyUI, nor any other. Although compatible with them. Just needs an updated version of Skyrim (1.9.32.0.8 latest) and official DLCs.
Installation: Standard
Removal: delete mod files from "Skyrim" folder
