Decoupage of boiled eggs for Easter. Decorating eggs with decoupage from napkins. What eggs are used to decoupage Easter eggs?

Easter is approaching! It's time to prepare a suitable decor that can be used to decorate the holiday table, or use as a gift for family and friends.

In this master class we will decorate three wooden Easter blanks in different styles.

Easter pendant

To decoupage the Easter pendant we will need the following materials:

Printing on a laser printer on plain paper (or on an inkjet printer on photo paper);

Glue for gold leaf;

Transfer foil;

Paint/glue/varnish brushes, palette knife, sandpaper, organza ribbon.

Sand the workpiece on both sides with fine sandpaper.

We cut out the picture; for this work there is no need to thin the printout (you can protect it from possible glue/paint stains with a thin layer of acrylic varnish). We coat the blank and the back side of the image with decoupage glue, apply it, smooth it from the center to the edges.

Remove excess glue with a napkin.

Using a palette knife, apply relief paste through a stencil. Completely on the back surface of the suspension and on the sides of the picture.

After the relief paste has dried, lightly sand the patterns.

We paint in the main tone, paying attention Special attention to all the bends and depressions of the relief, do not forget about the end of the workpiece. For better coverage, you can apply two layers.

When the red paint has dried, we highlight the volume with gold paint using the “dry brush” method.

Mark the letters “XB” with a pencil. We apply glue for the gold leaf on the letters (in a fairly dense layer) and on the protruding parts of the relief (you can selectively and “carelessly” - for a worn effect).

Place transfer foil on the dried glue (gold side up), smooth it well with your fingertips and remove.

Don't forget to gild the edge of the blank!

We outline the picture with gold acrylic paste and let it dry.

We cover it with one or two layers of acrylic varnish, also carefully treating the relief and avoiding the formation of varnish streaks.

Easter pendant is ready!

Decorative egg “Angel”

To decoupage a decorative Easter egg we will need:

Wooden egg blank (with a cut at the bottom);

Paint "Acrylic Hobby" White;

Primer/paint/varnish brushes, sandpaper, scissors, awl.

We prepare the surface - sand the workpiece.

For ease of work, place the egg on an awl.

Apply a thin layer of acrylic primer and set it to dry vertically in some kind of improvised stand (jar, box, etc.)

Cut out the silhouette from the decoupage card and mark an oval to fit it.

Paint with white and pink acrylic paints (in two layers).

When the paint has dried, moisten a fragment of the decoupage card with water.

We blot the water with a napkin, grease the angel figurine with decoupage glue and apply it to the surface of the workpiece, also greased with glue.

Coat the top with glue again, pressing the brush well, expel the air.

Let's fill it with thin relief paste an empty bottle with an acrylic paint dispenser (you can use a syringe without a needle, a pastry bag, or just a thick plastic bag with a corner cut off). We carry out three-dimensional painting according to a pre-thought-out sketch (you can make markings with a simple pencil).

After the paste has completely dried, use “Chameleon” paint slightly diluted with water to cover the entire work (except for the decoupage card). This will give the product a slight pearlescent shine.

We varnish the work (from three layers of varnish with intermediate drying). Decorative Easter egg is ready!

Vintage egg on a stand

Inkjet printing on glossy photo paper

Brushes for primer/paint/varnish, sandpaper, cotton pads, awl, paint drying retardant.

Sand the egg and the stand, apply a thin layer of primer.

We cover the printout on photo paper three or four times in different directions with a thin layer of glossy acrylic varnish (after each layer we dry it for about fifteen minutes, then it is advisable to let it dry for six hours or longer).

Cut out the motif and soak in water room temperature for about twenty minutes (more is possible).

We hook it with a needle and carefully remove the film with the image.

Apply decoupage glue to the workpiece and to the back of the picture.

We apply the print and quickly, stretching slightly with our fingertips (fingers must be moistened with water so as not to damage the thin varnish film), we position the motif as we need.

If possible, avoid the formation of folds (if folds do appear, then, after drying, carefully sand them off with fine sandpaper)

When the glue dries, we paint around the print with blue paint (“Acrylic Art” Heavenly).

We also paint the stand, then paint the “sides” on the stand with Blue FC.

We put a little blue and white paint on the palette, we will need either a “tattered” old synthetic brush or a small stencil brush, using “jabbing” movements we apply (“stuff” the paint) white around the motif, then gradually adding blue, making a gradient, bringing the color into general background.

You can add a drop of acrylic drying retardant to the paints.

When the underpainting has dried, we perform a two-step craquelure (a pair of lightened shellac + craquelure varnish).

We repair the resulting cracks with bitumen varnish, wash off the gum arabic, let the work dry and protect it with one layer of shellac.

Then, if desired, you can coat it with acrylic varnish.

Vintage decorative egg is ready!

Decorating things using the decoupage technique has received Lately wide use. Translated, this word means “to cut”; the technique itself is, in essence, decorating objects by gluing patterns cut out of paper onto them. Even without much experience in this technique and without great artistic skill, you can create small masterpieces for interior decoration or as a gift. It would be a good idea to decoupage Easter eggs; you can do this yourself using napkins. Readers of the “Beauty in You” site will be helped with this by the 3 master classes given below and tips for beginning craftsmen.

How to decorate eggs for Easter using decoupage technique: tips for beginners

You can decorate with napkins both boiled eggs and ornamental ones made from wood or foam. The technique for decorating them will not be entirely identical, especially if you want to decorate an antique egg for Easter using the craquelure technique. You will learn more about this below. Now we invite you to learn a few points that will make solving the problem easier and help you get the expected result.

  1. If you decorate boiled eggs, you need to wash them using a sponge. Decorative eggs are mashed sandpaper(sanding).
  2. Usually, white eggs are decorated with napkins, if necessary, painting them after the napkins are glued to them. If you want to decorate a wooden or foam egg with napkins, you can do the same. However, they are often first coated with acrylic paint and dried. Then they acquire a uniform color and become less slippery. It is more convenient to work with such eggs, and the relief of the base itself will not show through the pattern on the napkins.
  3. It will be convenient to work with decorative foam eggs if you string them on a skewer. Wooden eggs can be put on an awl.
  4. Think in advance about how (or rather what) you will dry the eggs. This can be done on a stand from the Easter set or on a wire rack. Eggs placed on a skewer can be dried in a glass.
  5. To decorate Easter eggs, you can choose special napkins for decoupage or regular three-layer ones. In the latter case, only one layer is used - with a pattern. You can replace napkins with decoupage cards. They are denser and move less and deform when glued, but before use they need to be soaked by immersing them in cool water for 10 seconds.
  6. Drawings from napkins can be cut out (this is faster) or torn out by hand. The designs torn from the napkins have an uneven outline and after gluing to the egg they look much more natural.
  7. If the design is not very small, then when cutting it out of a napkin it will not hurt to make “undercuts” - cuts on the paper.
  8. Usually, for decoupage, special decoupage glue or regular PVA glue is used, diluted with water in a 1:1 ratio. However, when decorating Easter eggs intended for consumption, it is advisable to abandon them in favor of paste, which is prepared from starch, or dissolved in warm water gelatin. But still the simplest and safest adhesive for decoupage boiled eggs is egg white.
  9. When preparing the protein for use as glue, do not beat it, but only stir it gently to break up its structure. Whipped egg whites create extra bubbles when sticking to napkins.
  10. Gluing the napkin pattern to the egg, move from the center to the edges. You can level the pattern with either a brush or your fingers.
  11. To create the effect of craquelure (cracked paint), a special varnish is used. Please note that it may vary. To avoid mistakes, you should pay attention to the manufacturer's instructions.
  12. When decorating a wooden egg using the decoupage technique, decorate the stand under it in the same style. Boiled eggs can also be served on a plate or tray decorated similarly to them, using the same napkins.

Knowing the subtleties listed above, you will be able to decorate eggs for Easter using the decoupage technique, even if you are going to do this for the first time. The following master classes will also help beginning artists achieve their goals.

Master class on decoupage of Easter eggs with napkins and egg white

We suggest starting with a master class on decorating boiled eggs using the decoupage technique. To implement your plan you will need:

  • boiled eggs;
  • paper napkins for decoupage (or ordinary three-layer ones) with a pattern suitable for the theme and size;
  • raw egg white;
  • brush;
  • water (optional);
  • scissors (optional);
  • stand for drying eggs.

The decoupage of boiled eggs for Easter celebrations consists of several steps:

  1. Wash and dry the eggs with a napkin. Try on drawings for them.
  2. Cut out the designs and separate the topmost paper from the other layers. You can tear the design out of the napkin with your hands. In this case, it is first divided into layers, then torn around the design.
  3. Attach the drawing to the egg and glue it with water. For beginners, it is better not to skip this step so that they have the opportunity to correct an unsuccessful composition.
  4. After making sure that all the designs fit well, cover the eggs with white and set them to dry.

If you are confident in your abilities, you can immediately glue napkin designs to eggs using egg white or paste. You can decorate with napkins not only white, but also colored eggs, if the dye is not afraid of water. In particular, eggs colored with onion skins are suitable.

How to make an antique Easter egg using the decoupage technique

If you want to make an Easter egg so that it seems like it has been lying in grandma's chest for a long time, you will need a special varnish - craquelure, but it is not the only one. In a craft store you need to ask:

  • acrylic paints of two colors, for example gold and white, gold and red, copper and blue;
  • craquelure varnish;
  • glue;
  • napkins for decoupage;
  • foam egg;
  • wooden skewer;
  • sandpaper;
  • sponge

To make a vintage Easter egg, follow the step-by-step instructions below:

  1. Sand the egg and place it on a skewer.
  2. Using a sponge, cover the egg with two coats of the darker of the two acrylic paints.
  3. Cover the egg with craquelure varnish. Dry it to the extent recommended by its manufacturer.
  4. Using a sponge, apply a layer of light paint. It is important to get a lot of paint, since you cannot go through the same place twice.
  5. Let the product dry. Glue the napkin designs to it using PVA glue diluted with water.

All that remains is to let the egg dry again, after which it can be removed from the skewer and given to a friend or relative as an Easter souvenir.

Eggs decorated with napkins using the decoupage technique are not a shame to put on the table or present to someone for Easter. They can serve as interior decoration not only Easter days. And even a novice craftswoman can make this beauty with her own hands, without spending too much time and effort.

On the eve of Easter on the Internet I kept coming across beautiful pictures Easter eggs decorated using the decoupage technique... I’ll say right away that I have no experience in decoupage at all, but my daughter and I still decided to try. My daughter is 6 years old.

In our village store, the most elegant napkins turned out to be quite simple in appearance and cheap in price, and not even three-layer, but two-layer. This did not stop us and we got down to business... Join us!

Once decorated, eggs are edible because no chemical paints, glue or varnish are used in their decoration. The ornament is glued using flour paste.

So, a master class on decoupaging Easter eggs with napkins (a guide for beginners).

Prepare the ingredients according to the list.

Eggs need to be hard-boiled as usual. Take eggs without cracks, preferably white. Salt the water generously so that the protein does not leak out during the cooking process if there are microcracks on the surface.

While the eggs are cooling, prepare the remaining materials. For glue, that is, paste, mix flour (rice here) or starch (corn or potato) with water.

Place this mixture in the microwave for 15-20 seconds at MAX. Then stir. Place again for 15-20 seconds and stir again. Place for the last time for 10 seconds, stir - and the adhesive mass is ready.

Tint part of the paste with suitable food coloring. We added a pinch of golden powder...

Remove the bottom layers from the napkins. Some napkins have three, some have two.

Using scissors, cut the designs into pieces of different sizes.

We first laid out the expected location of the fragments, so that we could then logically place them on the surface of the eggs. But then I inhaled, exhaled and everything fell apart, so we decided to glue it at random...

Pour water into a bowl or glass. Apply a brush dipped in water - moisten the surface of the egg, because at first the fragments of the design will simply stick to the water. It is also very convenient to straighten the pattern on the egg with the same damp brush.

The egg can be held in your hand, placed on a suitable stand or on a glass.

When the entire egg is covered with pieces of napkins with a pattern, let it dry for a few minutes, and then apply a transparent or colored paste with a brush using neat strokes.

You need to let the paste dry and the elegant Easter eggs are ready!

Decoupage eggs for Easter master classes

For several years now, decoupage has been considered the most favorite technique among experienced and inexperienced needlewomen. The essence of this art is to decorate surfaces by gluing pictures. You can use napkins with a pattern, rice paper or special cards for decoupage. After gluing, the product is carefully sanded and varnished.

The main goal of the master is to obtain a perfectly smooth surface on any element. We suggest doing Decoupage eggs for Easter using napkins in patchwork style, patchwork decoupage and paper art technique.

Materials for decoupage eggs:

- white boiled eggs;
- napkins with a pattern;
- starch;
- water;
- food coloring;
- brush.

For decoupage, you can take both boiled and raw eggs. It is best to choose white eggs to make painting the surface easier. If you want to make a craft that will decorate the interior of your kitchen or living room for a long time, prepare a blank from a raw egg.

1) To do this, you need to make holes in it on both sides and blow out the white and yolk. Then rinse and dry the workpiece well.
2) The paste is easy to cook from starch and water (10 grams of starch and 50 ml of water). Microwave the mixture for 1 minute, stirring occasionally. For decoupage it is also allowed to use regular PVA. Some needlewomen glue napkins with a gelatin solution or whipped egg white.
3) Napkins for decoupage consist of 3 layers - the top with a pattern and two for the base. Separate the top layer and cut it into small pieces, the size and shape of which depends on the image.
4) Using a brush and water, spread the tissue pieces over the surface of the egg. Now take the paste prepared in step 2 and coat the workpiece well. It’s convenient to do this on a stand; if you don’t have one, insert the egg into a regular glass.
5) Leave the eggs to dry for 10-15 minutes and proceed with the final decoration. Add a little gold or silver food coloring to the remaining paste and cover the surface of the craft again.
6) Dry the eggs well. To do this, you can use a hot rack.
If you decoupaged a workpiece rather than a boiled egg, cover the surface with varnish after it has completely dried.

Decopatch is a type of decoupage

Decopatch is one of the varieties of decoupage, when pieces are pasted over any surface, including glass and wood. Decopatch involves not just pasting with a whole material, but with separate pieces-shreds. We suggest decorating eggs with patchwork style fabric.

Materials:
- plastic egg;
- scraps of cotton fabric;
- PVA glue;
- brush;
- beads.

1) The fabric must be cut into shreds of any shape.
2) Coat the surface of the plastic egg with glue. If you don’t have a plastic one, you can blow out a chicken egg or use a wooden blank.

3) Carefully glue the scraps onto the egg and coat the top with glue.
4) After the gluing work is completed, you need to leave the product to dry.

6) Glue the rosette onto the egg.

The deco patch technique uses not only fabric, but also special paper, which allows you to imitate wood, fabric or fur texture. In this case, the joints of the pieces become completely invisible. Modern needlewomen combine several techniques and create real masterpieces by decoupaging eggs.

Paper art eggs

Recently, paper art in combination with decoupage using the technique of Tatyana Sorokina has become popular. To do this, flagella are prepared from napkins, which are then glued to the surface.

1) It’s quite simple to make flagella from decoupage napkins or paper handkerchiefs, wetting your hands lightly in water. First, you can decoupage the egg with napkins, and then decorate it with flagella, also lubricating the surface with glue. It is easy to make any patterns or make an inscription from the flagella.

2) If you want the patterns on the paper art craft to be symmetrical, draw them first with a pencil. After the flagella are laid out, wait until they dry and then start painting. Decorate in an original way relief drawing You can use wheat, beads or seed beads.

Varieties of decoupage techniques allow you to experiment when designing decorative items. Fantasize and create real ones.

Good afternoon dear friends. Very soon a bright holiday will come to each of us - Easter. Housewives begin to paint eggs, creating a whole palette of rich colors. Today I want to tell you several ways to decoupage eggs with napkins for Easter. The process is very entertaining and this is why great pleasure you can do it with the whole family.

Decoupage eggs with napkins for Easter: different methods

In anticipation of this day, every family is making exciting preparations. I would like to decorate the table with delicious, fragrant-smelling Easter cakes, collect a bright Easter basket and set the hospitable table.

Decorating eggs with bright appliqués

Decorating Easter eggs with paper appliqués cut from napkins is a rather fun and easy process that you can involve children in. For decoupage, you can use simple single-layer ones or buy colored napkins specially designed for this.

The designs you like should be carefully cut out with thin scissors. For Easter eggs, choose napkins with delicate spring motifs. Images of leaves, birds, primroses will be relevant.

You can attach fragments of the pattern to the eggshell with glue. This option, of course, is not suitable if the product will be consumed in the future. To make everything safe for health, it is better to use a paste made from potato starch, food gelatin or egg white.

Eggs can also be painted before applying applications. Coloring is best done with natural dyes. They are completely safe for health, even if the pigment penetrates the shell and slightly changes the color of the protein.

Decoupage technique with egg white

If you decide that bright colors will not just be a beautiful craft on the table, but will also be eaten, decorating using the decoupage technique is best done with egg white. It penetrates well through the napkin, reliably attaching the application to the shell.

Let's figure out how to make decoupage using egg whites. Prepare for work:

  • white chicken eggs;
  • 1 raw protein;
  • napkins to choose from - they can be single-layer, multi-layer, colored;
  • nail scissors, they are the easiest to work with;
  • flat small brush.

This is how you can make a bright addition to your Easter basket with your own hands. The work does not take as much time as it might seem, and the result exceeds all expectations.

Decoupage boiled eggs with starch

You can fix the selected designs on the shell using a well-known product - starch, preparing a natural paste based on it. For work, prepare:

  • white chicken eggs, pre-boil and cool them;
  • starch;
  • water;
  • flat brush;
  • napkins;
  • food colorings.

It is best to decorate eggs with small designs. Choose appropriate napkins for this. Remove the bottom layers and carefully cut out the required number of fragments using nail scissors. Masters call this type of work “patchwork technique.”

Now carefully distribute the prepared colored fragments over the surface of the shell. To do this, moisten the brush in a small amount of water. Carefully smooth out any wrinkles on the surface, otherwise the appliques will look unattractive.

The next step is to make a paste from corn or potato starch. Necessary:

  • pour 50 ml of water into a small container;
  • add 2 tsp. starch;
  • heat everything for 20 seconds in the microwave, remove, mix well;
  • leave for another 20 seconds, heat, stir again;
  • you need to repeat the procedure 2 more times, but now heat the composition for 10 seconds. After this, the paste is ready.

When the drawings are neatly distributed over the surface, coat everything on top well with paste. Leave to dry.

After 10-15 minutes, the eggs will dry well. At this time, add a small amount of food coloring to the paste. You can use silver or gold paint intended for coloring eggs. Stir everything well until a uniform shade is obtained.

At the last stage, cover the surface with a small layer of paste with dye and leave until completely dry. An oven rack is best suited for such purposes.

Put in just a little effort, learn a new technique and enjoy the beauty that you have created.

Gelatin decoration technique

Considering ways to stick various designs on eggshells, working in the decoupage technique, I can’t help but tell you about one more method. Edible gelatin should be used for this. It is completely harmless, and the eggs festive table They look very elegant and are easy to clean.

For work, first prepare:

  • hard-boiled white chicken eggs;
  • bright multi-layer napkins;
  • nail scissors;
  • food gelatin;
  • water;
  • flat brush.

I will tell you how to do decoupage step by step in such a way that you get it right the first time.

Decoupage wooden eggs

It’s quite easy to make bright, colorful eggs suitable as holiday souvenirs. Wooden blanks made in the shape of eggs are sold in many creative workshops. In addition to these, you should also prepare:

  • long screws;
  • acrylic paints;
  • decoupage glue or PVA;
  • napkins with different designs;
  • fan-shaped brush;
  • glossy varnish;
  • a small piece of foam sponge.

Experiment with decorating wooden eggs, and in the end you will get bright souvenirs with which you can please your family and friends on the day of the holiday.
