Cautions

Precautions to Avoid Possible Excessive Exposure to Microwave Energy

Thanks to the interlocking contacts built into the oven door mechanism, you cannot turn on the oven with the door open. These latching contacts ensure that any cooking function is automatically turned off when the door is opened, because if you do not do so in the case of a microwave oven, you may be exposed to harmful microwave energy.
It is important not to try to do anything with the locking contacts.
Do not insert any objects between the oven door and the front panel and do not allow food or cleaning residues to accumulate on the sealing surfaces.

Do not use a faulty oven.
It is especially important that the oven door closes securely and that there is no damage to: (1) the door (bent), (2) hinges and latches (broken or loose), (3) door seals and sealing surfaces.
The oven should not be adjusted or repaired by anyone other than a qualified microwave technician.

Warning
Please always ensure that you set the cooking time correctly as cooking for too long may cause the food to burn and cause damage to the oven.

When heating liquids such as soups, sauces and drinks in your microwave oven, the liquid may overheat above its boiling point without producing visible steam bubbles. This may cause the superheated liquid to boil unexpectedly. To avoid this possibility, the following measures must be taken:

1. Avoid using cylindrical containers with narrow necks.
2. Do not overheat the liquid.
3. Stir the liquid before placing the vessel in the oven and then stir it again after half the preheating time has elapsed.
4. Once preheating is completed, allow the container to sit in the oven for a while, then carefully re-stir the liquid or shake the container and check the temperature of the liquid before using it to avoid burns (especially baby bottles and jars).

Warning
Always allow food to stand after cooking using microwave energy and check
temperature of the food before eating it. This especially applies to the contents of bottles and jars of baby food.

How does a microwave oven work?

Microwaves are a form of energy similar to the electromagnetic waves used in radio and television broadcasting and normal daylight.
Typically, electromagnetic waves travel outward through the atmosphere and disappear into space without a trace. However, microwave ovens have a magnetron, which is designed in such a way that the energy contained in the microwaves can be harnessed. The electricity conducted to the magnetron is used to generate microwave energy. Microwaves enter the cooking area through openings inside the oven. At the bottom of the oven is a rotating turntable or tray. Microwaves cannot penetrate metal oven walls, but they can penetrate materials such as glass, porcelain, and paper—materials that make microwave-safe cookware.
Microwaves do not heat the cookware; however, the cookware is heated by the heat generated in the food.

VERY SAFE DEVICE

Your microwave oven is one of the safest pieces of equipment. As soon as the door is opened, the oven automatically stops producing microwaves. When microwave energy penetrates food, it is completely converted into heat, leaving no “residual” energy in the food that could have a harmful effect on your health.

Unpacking and Installing the Oven

By following the basic instructions on the two pages below, you can quickly install your oven and test its functionality. Please pay special attention to the instructions regarding the installation location of the oven. When unpacking the oven, ensure that you have removed all accessories supplied with the oven and packaging materials. Please ensure that your oven was not damaged upon delivery.

1. Unpack your oven and place it on a flat, horizontal surface.

2. Place the oven on a flat, horizontal surface in the location of your choice, at least 85cm above the floor, but ensure there is at least 30cm of clearance at the top and 10cm at the back of the oven for adequate ventilation. To avoid accidentally knocking the oven onto the floor, ensure that the front edge of the door is at least 8 cm deep from the edge of the surface on which the oven is installed.
Ventilation holes are located on the top or side walls of the oven. Blocking these openings may damage the oven.

THIS PRODUCT SHOULD NOT BE USED FOR COMMERCIAL COOKING PURPOSES

Important Safety Instructions

WARNING
Please always ensure that you set the cooking time correctly as cooking for too long may cause the food to FIRE and subsequently DAMAGE THE OVEN.

Please read carefully and retain for future reference.
1. Do not attempt to adjust or repair the door, control panel, interlock contacts, or any other part of the oven yourself. It is dangerous to perform any maintenance or repair work on the oven that involves removing any covers or covers that provide protection from microwave energy. Repairs should only be performed by a qualified microwave repair technician.
2. Do not turn on the oven when it is empty. When the oven is not in use, it is recommended to place a glass of water in it. If you accidentally turn on the oven, the water will safely absorb all the microwave energy.
3. Do not microwave dry clothes, which may char or burn if you heat them for too long.
4. Do not cook food by wrapping it in paper towels unless the cookbook specifically recommends doing so.
5. Do not use newspapers instead of paper towels when preparing food.
6. Do not use wooden utensils. It may overheat and become charred. Do not use ceramic cookware with metal trim (such as gold or silver). Always remove twisted wires from food bags. Metal objects can create an electrical arc that can cause serious damage to the oven.
7. Do not operate the oven with a kitchen towel, napkin, or other obstruction between the door and the oven front, as this may cause microwave energy to leak to the outside.
8. Do not use recycled paper as it may contain impurities that could cause sparks and/or fire when cooking.
9. Do not wash the turntable in water immediately after finishing cooking. It may break or crack.
10. Small quantities of food require less time to cook or reheat. If you program the normal time, the food may overheat and burn.
11. To avoid accidentally knocking the oven onto the floor, ensure that the front edge of the door is at least 8 cm deep from the edge of the surface on which the oven is installed.
12. Before cooking, pierce the skins of potatoes, apples and other similar fruits and vegetables with a fork.
13. Do not cook eggs in their shells in the oven. Pressure will build up inside the egg and it will explode.
14. Do not attempt to deep-fry food in your oven.
15. Before cooking or defrosting food, remove any plastic packaging. However, please note that in some cases food may need to be covered with plastic wrap when cooking or reheating.
16. If the oven door or door seals are not in good condition, the oven should not be used until it is repaired by a professional.
17. If you notice smoke, do not open the oven door, but turn it off or unplug the oven's power cord from the outlet to allow the flames to go out without introducing air.
18. When cooking or heating food in disposable containers made of plastic, paper or other flammable materials, do not leave the oven unattended and check inside frequently to ensure that nothing is happening to the container.
19. Allow children to use the oven unsupervised only after you have trained them so that the child knows how to use the oven safely and understands the dangers of improper use.
20. Liquids or other products should not be heated in sealed containers as they may explode if heated.

The service life of this product is 7 years from the date of delivery of the product to the consumer.

Microwave cookware

Never use metal utensils or utensils with metal trim in your microwave oven.
Microwaves cannot pass through metal. They will be reflected from any metal object placed in the oven and will cause an electric arc, which is similar in origin to lightning.
Most heat-resistant non-metallic cookware is microwave safe. However, some cookware may contain materials that make it unsuitable for microwave use. If you are unsure about the suitability of a particular cookware, there is an easy way to determine whether it is microwave safe.
Place the item you are concerned about in the microwave next to a glass of water. Turn the microwave mode on HIGH power within 1 minute. If the water warms up and the utensil being tested remains cool to the touch, it is safe to use in the microwave. However, if the water temperature does not change and the dish becomes warm, it is absorbing microwaves and is not safe to use in the microwave. You probably already have a lot of utensils in your kitchen that can be used when cooking in the microwave. Just read the list below.

Table plates
Many types of dinnerware are microwave safe. If in doubt, consult the cookware manufacturer's documentation or perform a microwave safety test.

Glassware
Heat-resistant glassware is microwave safe. This also applies to all brands of cookware made from tempered glass. However, do not use fragile glassware such as glasses or wine glasses, as they may burst when food is heated.

Plastic containers for food storage
They can be used to quickly heat food. However, they should not be used for cooking for long periods of time, as hot food will eventually cause them to warp or melt.

Paper
Paper plates and containers are convenient and safe to use in the microwave, as long as the cooking time is short and the food is low in fat and moisture. Paper towels are also very useful for wrapping food and lining baking sheets in which fatty foods such as bacon are cooked. In general, try to avoid colored paper, as the dye may transfer to the food. Some recycled paper products may contain impurities that can cause arcing or fire.

Plastic bags for cooking
They are safe to use in the microwave provided they are specifically designed for cooking. However, be sure to cut a slit in the bag to allow steam to escape from the bag. Never use conventional plastic bags, as they will melt and tear.

Plastic kitchen utensils for microwave oven
Microwave cookware is available in a variety of shapes and sizes. For the most part, you can probably use utensils you already have in your kitchen rather than buying new ones.

Faience, clay dishes and ceramics
Vessels made from these materials are usually perfectly suitable for use in a microwave oven, but to be completely sure they must be tested in the above manner.

WARNING
Some utensils with high lead or iron content are not suitable for use in a microwave oven. To be sure that the utensils are microwave safe, you should test them.

Product characteristics and microwave cooking

Watch the cooking process
The recipes in the cookbook have been carefully developed, but your success in preparing dishes using them depends on how closely you observe the cooking process. Always watch food while preparing it. Your oven has a built-in light that automatically turns on when food is cooking, so you can look inside and check how it's cooking. Instructions given in recipes about when to lift, stir, etc. should be considered the minimum required. If you feel like your food is cooking unevenly, simply take steps that you think will improve the situation.

Factors affecting cooking time
Cooking time depends on many factors. The temperature of the ingredients used in a recipe greatly affects the cooking time. For example, a cake made with butter, milk and eggs fresh from the refrigerator will take significantly longer to bake than a cake made with the same ingredients at room temperature. All recipes in this Guide include cooking time ranges. In general, you will find that if you cook a dish for the minimum time specified in a recipe, it will usually not be fully cooked, and sometimes you will even have to exceed the maximum time specified to cook the dish to your liking. The basic principle adopted in this cookbook is to be conservative when specifying cooking times. After all, if the food is burnt, then it can no longer be corrected. Some recipes, especially breads, pies and custards, recommend removing the dish from the oven slightly undercooked. It's not a mistake. If food is allowed to sit, especially if covered, it continues to cook even after it is removed from the oven as the heat absorbed by the outer layers of the food gradually penetrates inside. If food is left in the oven until it is completely cooked, the outer layers will dry out or even burn. You will gradually become more adept at timing the cooking and standing time of various foods.

Density of products
Light, spongy foods such as cake or bread cook faster than heavy, dense foods such as roast beef or stew. When cooking porous foods, you must take care that the outer edges do not become too dry and brittle.

Food height
The top of tall foods, particularly roast beef, will cook faster than the bottom. As a result, it is recommended to turn a dish that has a large height during cooking, sometimes several times.

Number of products
The number of microwaves in your microwave oven remains the same regardless of the amount of food being cooked. Therefore, the more food you put in the microwave, the longer it will take to cook. When you cook any dish that is half the weight specified in the recipe, be sure to reduce the cooking time specified in the recipe by at least one third.

Products form
Microwaves only penetrate food to a depth of about 2 cm; The inside of a thick dish is cooked by transferring heat generated from the outside to the inside. Only the outer layers of any dish are cooked by microwave energy, the rest of the dish is cooked by conduction. It follows from this that the worst possible form dishes when cooked in the microwave are a thick square. The corners will have been ready for a long time, but the center will not even heat up yet. The microwave oven cooks most successfully round thin dishes and ring-shaped dishes.

Covering
The lid traps heat and steam, causing food to cook faster. To cover, use a lid or tight-fitting film, lifting one of its corners so that the film is not torn by the steam pressure.

Browning
Meats and poultry that cook for 15 minutes or longer will brown lightly from their own fat. For dishes that are prepared over a short time, you can apply a browning sauce such as Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce or barbecue sauce to achieve a delicious color. Because relatively small amounts of browning sauce are added to dishes, the original flavor of the food remains intact.

Covering with greaseproof paper
Greaseproof paper effectively prevents splattering and helps food retain some of its heat. But because it covers the food less tightly than a lid or cling film, it allows the food to dry out slightly.

Placement and spacing
Piece products such as baked potato, muffins in tins, snacks will heat more evenly if they are placed in the microwave at equal distances from each other, preferably in a circle. Never stack food on top of each other.

Mixing
Stirring is one of the most important techniques when cooking food in the microwave. In normal cooking, dishes are stirred to combine ingredients. However, when cooking with microwaves, food is stirred to spread and redistribute heat. Always stir food from the edges towards the center as the edges heat up first.

Flipping
Large, tall dishes, such as large pieces of meat and whole chicken, need to be turned so that the top and bottom cook evenly. It is also recommended to turn chicken pieces and cutlets.

Placing thicker portions outside
Since microwaves are attracted to the outer parts of food, it is wise to place thicker portions of meat, poultry or fish closer to the edges of the dish in which they are cooked. This way, thicker portions will receive more microwave energy and the food will cook more evenly.

Shielding
To prevent corners and edges of square or rectangular dishes from overcooking, they are sometimes covered with pieces of aluminum foil, which block microwaves. Never use too much foil and ensure that the foil is held securely on the dish, otherwise an electrical arc may occur.

Lifting
Thick and dense dishes can be raised to allow microwaves to be absorbed by the bottom and center of the dish.

Piercing
Foods encased in shells, skins or membranes may explode in the oven if you do not puncture them before cooking. These foods include egg whites and yolks, shellfish and oysters, and whole vegetables and fruits.

Checking readiness
Microwave ovens cook food so quickly that you need to check it frequently for doneness. Some foods are left in the oven until they are fully cooked, but most foods, including meat and poultry, are removed from the oven slightly undercooked and allowed to finish cooking during the resting time. During the settling time, the internal temperature of the food rises from 30 C to 80 C.

Sludge time
Food is often allowed to sit for 3 to 10 minutes after it is removed from the microwave. Typically, food is covered while it sits to keep it warm, except when it needs to dry out on the outside (for example, some pies and biscuits). The settling allows the food to finish cooking and also allows the flavors to mingle and intensify.

Cleaning your oven

1. Keep oven interior surfaces clean
Drops of food or spilled liquids stick to the walls of the oven and get between the seals and the surface of the door. It is best to remove them immediately with a damp cloth. Food crumbs and drippings will absorb microwave energy and increase cooking time. Use a damp cloth to remove any crumbs or food particles between the oven door and sealing surfaces. These areas must be cleaned especially carefully to ensure that the door closes securely. Remove beads of grease from the internal surfaces with a soapy rag, then rinse off the soap with a rag and wipe dry. Don't use hard ones detergents or abrasive cleaning agents. The glass tray can be washed by hand or in the dishwasher.

2. Keep the outside surfaces of the oven clean
Clean external surfaces using mild soap and warm water, then rinse off the soap and wipe the body dry with a soft cloth or paper towel. To prevent damage to the oven's interior, do not allow water to seep into the vents. To clean the control panel, open the door to prevent the oven from accidentally turning on and wipe the panel with a damp cloth, then immediately dry it with a soft cloth. After finishing cleaning, press the button Stop/Reset.

3. If steam condenses inside or outside the oven around the perimeter of the door, wipe the panels with a soft cloth. This may occur when the microwave oven is operated in high humidity conditions and does not in any way indicate a malfunction of the oven.
4. The door and door seals must be kept clean. For cleaning, use only a soft cloth and soapy water. warm water, then rinse off the soap and dry thoroughly.
DO NOT USE ABRASIVE MATERIALS SUCH AS CLEANING POWDERS, SWORDS, OR PLASTIC PADS.
Metal surfaces It will be easier to keep them clean if you wipe them often with a damp cloth.

And why did they come up with the idea of producing bread machines not in Russia, with its inexhaustible fields of rye and wheat, but in Germany, England, Japan, and Korea? However, it cannot be said that only Russia loves baking. In Germany, the birthplace of the bread machine, there are also long baking traditions. What about French baguette and croissants? What about Italian pizza? Each country has its own culinary preferences, which are taken into account by manufacturers of household appliances. What can the creators of mini-bakeries offer Russian housewives?

Russian cuisine has always been famous for its pastries

Most models sold in Russia “know” our language - they have a Russified menu. And the collections of recipes included with the bread machines must include at least ten original Russian dishes.

Let's start with a dish that evokes a strong association with Russia - dumplings. The first bread makers that appeared in our country did not know how to prepare dumpling dough. But inventive housewives outwitted foreign technology and adapted the “pizza” mode for kneading it, which is available in all mini-bakeries with a dough kneading function. But still, these two types of dough are too different from each other to knead them using the same program. Dumplings are lean, without oil, prepared from flour, eggs and water. Pizza dough is kneaded without eggs, using milk with the addition of olive oil for elasticity...

Taking this into account, now manufacturers, in addition to the “pizza” mode, also add “dumplings”. For example, to knead dumpling dough in a Panasonic SD-255 oven, you need to load 450 grams of flour, salt, egg and 210 ml into the machine. water, press “start” and after just 20 minutes take out an elastic ball of dough, which is enough for 70 - 80 dumplings.

The Panasonic SD-255 bread maker is equipped with a dumpling dough kneading function

In addition to dumplings, Russian cuisine has always been famous for pastries made from yeast dough: pies, kulebyaki, pies, cheesecakes, and, of course, dozens of varieties of bread - from black rye to white wheat. Yeast dough can be more or less rich. The first one contains more baked goods - butter, sugar, eggs. Airy cheesecakes and buns are baked from it. The second is suitable for regular bread. In any case, kneading it by hand is not an easy task. A bread maker will help here too - it can handle yeast dough in a maximum of 2 hours. But even here you need to remember that yeast is a capricious thing. You need to add and pour the ingredients in strict sequence, as written in the recipe. The yeast should not get wet ahead of time, otherwise the dough will not be fluffy enough.

In a bread machine, ordinary yeast dough for cheesecakes “fits” in a maximum of 2 hours

So the dough is ready, what now? Option one is to take it out, roll it out and bake pies or buns in the oven. Unfortunately, a bread machine cannot prepare such small things - its shape is intended only for loaves from 450 to 1300 grams. But you can say thank you to that machine too - after all, it did most of the work for you. And the second option is to bake directly in the bread machine. It is not at all necessary to first knead the dough and then set the baking mode. You can set a program that includes both stages. Then you just need to add the prepared ingredients and take out the finished loaf after a few hours. In a bread maker you can bake Russian, Darnitsky, Borodino bread (Moulinex OW 5002 even has it highlighted in special program), as well as bread with all kinds of additives - mushrooms, vegetables, nuts, raisins, caraway seeds, onions. Manufacturers, knowing our traditions, taught mini-bakeries to bake even Easter cakes.

For example, to bake Easter cake in the Panasonic SD-253, you need yeast, wheat flour, egg yolks, sugar, margarine, milk, candied fruits, almonds and raisins. Softened margarine and yolks mashed with sugar are placed in a bread maker bucket. Nuts and candied fruits are placed in a special dispenser, from where they are automatically poured into the dough at the very end of the kneading. Next, select the “whole flour” program, set the “baking with raisins” mode and the bread maker bakes a cake called “Monastic” for 5 hours. But if all the models mentioned above have Russian cuisine recipes presented in the form of two or three programs, then LG Electronics has gone further in the matter of winning the sympathy of the Russian consumer. Models of this brand (HB-205CJ) have the “Russian Chef” program, which provides several traditional recipes Russian bread. So, for LG HB-156JE it includes honey mustard, pumpkin, sour cream, Rye bread and Easter cake.

LG HB-205CJ

MODEL REVIEW:

Good French bread;
Good rye bread;
Test preparation;
Cooking jam;
Excellent Easter cake;
You may not go to the store for a long time

We really like the bread maker and we no longer buy store-bought bread.
We bought a measuring container to measure out water, and use our own container to measure the flour (so as not to wipe it off after the water).
At first, the ingredients were poured in accurately, because the bread was of unstable quality. Then, over time, experience came, and we do this:
- measure out the water using the purchased container according to the recipe book for ordinary bread. We take water from a drinking flask, room temperature. Heat for 15 seconds in the microwave. Pour into a bucket.
If the butter is from the refrigerator, then throw it into the measured water and heat it together with the water.
If the butter is not very cold, then I simply cut it by eye and throw a piece into a bucket of water that was poured before.
Sprinkle salt. A little more than in the recipe, about 20-25%. We'll get more into trouble this way.
Add sugar, about 25% less than according to the recipe.
Powdered milk - according to the recipe, but by eye. those. plus or minus doesn't matter.
The most important thing is yeast. We tried all sorts of different ones - you have to adapt to each brand over the course of several rolls. and the quality is not always consistent. Our best option is Pakmaya yeast! The best of the best! Always predictable results, always consistently high quality.
We add about 15% less Pakmaev yeast than according to the recipe.
That's it - a bucket in a bread machine. select the mode. crust color, press start and go about our business for 3 hours and 40 minutes.
About 20 minutes before the end of the program there is a final stage, which, in principle, can be skipped. The bread maker will beep in 20 minutes - you can wait until the end, or you can take it out and leave it to cool.
Making bread is not as difficult as it seems. Loading the ingredients takes about two minutes.
I don’t wash the bucket after the bread - there’s only flour in there and everything is dry.

Programs: 9 - main, special, quick, dough, cake, jam.

The “Russian Chef” mode was created for baking rye, pumpkin, honey mustard, sour cream bread, Easter cake, and other types of bread according to your recipes. A special mode is designed for baked goods containing a lot of sugar, fat, including cheese and eggs. To prepare white bread, use the basic mode. The difference between the programs is the intensity of kneading.

The Quick Bread program lasts about 2 hours.

The “Dough” mode is mainly used for preparing yeast dough, the process takes a little over an hour. But the collection contains recipes yeast-free pizza and dough for dumplings.

Loaf: 500, 700 g.

Test result: To bake a white loaf, we chose a table bread recipe with butter and milk powder. The result was a very homemade, unusual bread with a delicate crumb and a crumbly crispy crust.

We prepared the Easter cake according to the manufacturer's recipe, adding ingredients in two stages. The first batch was kneaded for about 15 minutes, then at the signal we added the second batch of products. The Easter cake came out fluffy, rosy and very tasty.

The honey mustard bread was also a success: it turned out to be a beautiful loaf with a pleasantly complex flavor profile.

SUMMARY:

Advantages: very tasty bread. Excellent dough. Gorgeous cupcakes. Nice design. High quality cookbook included. Measuring spoon and measuring cup included. It works very quietly, there have been no problems with operation so far.

Flaws: Almost after the first use the mold began to leak. As for the jam function, its disadvantages are that the volume is not large - about half a liter of the resulting jam. The "stirrer" mechanism is not reliable.

Overall rating: It's very convenient to have your own bread at home. The whole family loves rye and onion. It’s a shame that the pan started leaking, but we started adding liquid at the end of adding food, and have been using the bread maker every day for two years now.

The model is quite good. Judge for yourself. After purchasing a bread machine in February 2010, we simply stopped buying bread at the store. They turn out very well: French, rye bread, as well as Easter cake. You can’t buy this kind of cake in the store! The main disadvantage of a bread machine is the “stirrer” mechanism. A year later I had to completely change the bucket. The reason is wear of the stirrer mechanism. Having extensive operating experience and a little knowledge of technology, I will give the whole cause-and-effect picture and the main conclusion.
The mechanism itself consists of three main parts: bearing, axle, and oil seal. The axle has a support at the bottom on a metal bearing and at the top on an oil seal (reinforced rubber). What's going on? Over time, water gets into the bearing and causes it to jam. Under such conditions, the rotation of the axis leads to two consequences. Firstly, the axis itself is bent. Secondly, this leads to destruction of the seal. Therefore, it is pointless to change the oil seal.
Conclusion. For successful intensive use of the bread machine, it is necessary to lubricate the rotation mechanism regularly (at least once a week). To do this, wash the bucket. After it dries, take some machine oil, such as oil from sewing machine, and lubricate the bearing. Successful and durable operation.

From the editor. Buying kitchen appliances is a delicate matter. Even if you had enough money to buy up the entire assortment in the store, another problem would arise: where to store all this wealth and what to do with it later? Often toasters Food processors, blenders and coffee makers are actively used in everyday life only for the first couple of months, and then they end up forgotten in the closet. We decided to correct this misunderstanding and launched a series of materials “Testing Appliances/Utensils.” We won’t tell you about the variety of devices (sales consultants also do a good job with this), we’ll try it, and then we’ll tell you how useful they are, how to use them and what miracles they are capable of. And you can decide for yourself whether you can live without these miracles.

TTested unit: microwave oven with grill LG MH-6342BMS (23 l)(price: 5390 rub.)

Almost every family has microwave ovens - perhaps only ardent supporters healthy image life pointedly refuse the presence of such achievements of science and technology in their home. By the way, it is for such cautious users that the instructions supplied with the device describe the essence of microwaves and place emphasis on safety. “Your microwave oven is one of the safest pieces of equipment. As soon as the door is opened, the oven automatically stops producing microwaves. Once microwave energy penetrates food, it is completely converted into heat, leaving no “residual” energy in the food that could have a harmful effect on your health.”

The first impression of the stove is that it is very unusual. Its design was developed by the Italian architect Alessandro Mendini. By the way, despite the design, the microwave still looks very discreet and will easily fit into any interior, but at the same time it will not be like everyone else.

The inner coating of the oven is also special - the technologists called it Easy Clean, and this is true. Later, during testing, I was convinced of this - cleansing is really easy. By the way, the company provides a 10-year warranty on this coverage.

Defenders environment They will also certainly appreciate the Eco on button, one press of which completely disconnects the device from the network - as if the plug had been pulled out of the socket. The same thing happens if the appliance is inactive for 5 minutes - even if the door is open.

The feature of the device is considered to be a whole set of automatic food preparation programs: the LG microwave oven has the functions “Russian cook”, “French cook”, “Italian cook”, “Oriental cook”. For example, a “Russian cook” knows how to cook borscht, meat solyanka, in its uniform, meat in pots, dumplings, steamed salmon steak, trout with vegetables and buckwheat porridge. And “Italian” - cream soup with seafood, Piedmontese soup, eggplant with tomato and cheese, peppers stuffed with tuna and bread, spaghetti Bolognese, risotto and apple chips.

The instruction book contains a detailed description of how to prepare a dish according to each program. However, I still did not cook soups in the microwave - in my opinion, there is a saucepan and a stove for this. But it became interesting to try to bake some of the main dishes. However, I don’t like to cook strictly according to instructions - and what if today I don’t want jacket potatoes, but, say,? In general, I assessed the contents of the refrigerator and tried to prepare my menu in the test unit.

Pizza

Since I have a grill oven, I decided to use the Italian program and cook. However, since it was in the office kitchen, the girls and I bought frozen pizza. Not at all embarrassed by the name of the program “fresh pizza”, we turned on the device and returned after the 17 minutes indicated on the board.

On practice. To be honest, I didn’t expect the pizza to brown: the instructions said that a quartz grill bakes dishes better than a heating element, but I didn’t believe it was that much. Especially considering the fact that the pizza was cooked on a rotating glass tray, and the distance to the grill was large. As a result, the pizza was not only perfectly baked, but also browned. We had lunch with great pleasure.

Chicken wings

I cook this “signature” dish in every device I test that is more or less suitable for this. The microwave was no exception. At home, I always bake my wings in the oven on the grill; they turn out crispy and crispy. I didn’t expect to get the same effect in the microwave. There were no wings on any of the menus; the closest thing I found was the “chicken legs with prunes” dish in the “French Chef” program.

On practice. A microwave oven is still not an oven. The wings turned out a little “cooked”. And only when I added 5 minutes twice at the end of the specified cooking time, each time stirring the wings in the bowl, they became rosy, “fried” and already looked like the real thing.

Potatoes with mushrooms

I’m just a seemingly gourmet, but in reality I love simple and satisfying food. Meat, for example, or the same potatoes. In general, when one day I got the itch and wanted potatoes with mushrooms, I decided to bake them in the microwave. Since I would cook such a dish in the oven in a pot, out of all the modes I chose “meat in a pot” (Russian Cook program). Before starting cooking, I fried the mushrooms in a frying pan - that is, I did exactly the same as if I were cooking in the oven. But I just peeled the potatoes and cut them into cubes.

On practice. When I started the program, the timer showed only 6 minutes. I even doubted whether the fish would have time to cook in that amount of time. However, this was not the catch. From the very first minutes the fish began to “crack” in the oven and “spit.” It was as if she was being torn apart. I later noticed that the instructions also said to cover the top with parchment paper - perhaps that was the point. What’s most surprising is that in 6 minutes the fish was still baked, and cleaning the stove turned out to be quite easy - thanks to the easy-to-clean inner coating.

Summary

  • This device is more suitable for those who like to cook according to ready-made and created recipes. This is a guarantee of perfect results. If you, like me, like to experiment, be prepared for the fact that it will take some time to get used to the stove and understand which mode is best suited for what.
  • The device can always be used as a classic microwave oven: here you can change the power, defrost and simply reheat food. By the way, every morning I cooked in the microwave oatmeal. To do this, I poured milk into the cereal, selected power 480 and turned on the oven for exactly 2.5 minutes.
  • Among the minor drawbacks: the oven door does not lock and tends to close when you take the dish out of it. Among the additional advantages: thanks to i-wave technology, microwaves in the oven spread in a spiral, due to which the dish is evenly heated - that is, along the edges, and not just in the center.
